Gene expression is induced during senescence, a process that involves jasmonic acid signalling pathway. Note: Nomenclature for Arabidopsis allene oxide cyclase 2 (AOC2, AT3G25770) gene is based on Stenzel et al. 2003 Plant Molecular Biology 51:895-911. AOC2 (AT3G25770) is also referred to as AOC3 in He et al. 2002 Plant Physiology, 128:876-884.
