Encodes a homolog of the yeast SRS2 (Suppressor of RAD Six-screen mutant 2) helicase. The Arabidopsis SRS2 is a functional 3’- to 5’-helicase. Biochemical studies show that SRS2 disrupts recombinogenic DNA intermediates and facilitates single strand annealing.
