Heterologous expression of the protein in yeast conferred the ability to catalyze multiple reactions in which the C-6 position of 6-deoxocastasterone, 6-deoxotyphasterol, 3-dehydro-6-deoxoteasterone and 6-deoxoteasterone are oxidized.
