Encodes a protein with UDP-xylose-dependent xylosyltransferase activity, which transfers Xyl onto L-fucose and (albeit less efficiently) L-arabinose. The linkage to L-fucose was shown to be preferentially to the <i>O</i>-4 position. Analysis of mutant containing T-DNA insertion in this gene indicate that the RGXT2 protein might be involved in the synthesis of the &alpha;-D-Xyl-(1,3)-&alpha;-L-Fuc-(1,4)-L-Rha structure in pectic rhamnogalacturonan II.
